It’s January BookClub discussion time — and we’re trying something a little different this month.
We know that long lists of questions can sometimes make it harder, not easier, to jump in. So for January, we’re keeping things simple: one thoughtful prompt per book.
There’s no pressure to write a long response. A few words, a quick feeling, or a first reaction is more than enough. The aim is just to get the conversation flowing and hear from more of you.
Here are this month’s prompts—Feel free to comment on the post of whichever book you listened to!
The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Discussion Prompt: By the end of the novel, did you feel more sympathy or frustration towards Anthony and Gloria — and did your feelings change as the story unfolded?
(One word is fine.)
The Jump by Martina Cole
Discussion Prompt: At what point, if any, did you feel Donna should have walked away — or did you understand why she kept going?
Trust your instinct — there’s no right answer.
The Spy Who Loved by Clare Mulley
Discussion Prompt: Did Christine Granville’s wartime bravery feel driven more by duty, by thrill, or by a need to escape ordinary life?
(A word or short phrase is perfect.)
